As governmental resources continue to decrease, we cannot accomplish our day-to-day work of providing safe, secure shelter in a supportive environment to homeless women, women and men with children and families without your help.

Donations of money, goods and services are always welcome and very appreciated.

Monetary – Monetary gifts can be made as one-time or recurring donations.

Pledges: Pledging a contribution by installment is an excellent means of sustaining support. You can specify the length of the pledge period, the frequency of payment and the method of payment and you may cancel at any time.

Tribute Gifts: Celebrate birthdays or anniversaries with tribute gifts, or honor the life of a loved one with a memorial gift. And please consider remembering Samuel’s House in your will.

Monetary donations can either be mailed to Samuel’s House, Inc. , 1614 Truesdell Court, Key West, FL 33040, or submitted online through Paypal with a VISA, MasterCard, Discover or American Express credit card.

In-kind donations of either goods or services are always tremendously appreciated. Please contact Mindy McKenzie at 305-296-0240 if you wish to make an in-kind donation to Samuel’s House.

Planned Giving

With a planned gift to Samuel’s House, you can combine your desire to give to charity with your overall financial, tax, and estate planing goals. You will help us in our mission of serving homeless women, women with children, men with children and intact families now and for years to come.

Contributing appreciated stocks and other assets can be of benefit to you at tax time.

Employer Matching

Some companies encourage philanthropy by matching their employees’ donations.  Most of these programs match contributions dollar for dollar, and some even double or triple the amount of your gift.  Please check with your employer about matching gift guidelines.

Please tell us in the subject line of form what you are interested in donating (i.e. money, time, furniture, etc). We will get in touch with you within 48 hours of email receipt to discuss your donation. Thank you very much for your time and assistance.

Our Programs

We provide housing to homeless individuals and families in a compassionate environment while they develop the necessary tools and confidence to manage their own lives fully, responsibly and independently.

Samuel’s House consists of three core housing programs:

  • The Mary Spottswood Women’s Center providing emergency  shelter for women and women with children for up to 90 days to allow them time  to create a new beginning for themselves and their children.
  • Kathy’s Hope providing structured nurturing independent  housing for recovering women and women with children as they continue to work  towards permanency.
  • Casa de Meredith providing structured affordable permanent  efficiency and two bedroom apartment units to women, men and their intact families.

The ultimate goal of all Samuel’s House programs is to allow residents to remain independent and largely self-sufficient through the provision of specifically targeted services that will address the individual needs of each individual and make a positive,  permanent impact in their future lives.

All Samuel’s House programs meet all local safety standards and  ADA requirements as to handicap accessibility.  Samuel’s House does not discriminate based on race, religion, nationality or lifestyle.

Samuel’s House programs provide:

  • safe, secure shelter for women, women with children and now with the advent of Casa de Meredith, women and men and their families;
  • a team-approach to motivate women to reach goals and develop skills, thereby becoming viable members of society;
  • structured surroundings with training opportunities in an atmosphere of strong spiritual values;
  • a 12-Step oriented environment;
  • coordinated physical, dental and mental medical care for women and children who are residents of the Mary S. Spottswood Women’s Center and Kathy’s  Hope;
  • a group home “family” setting where women share household duties, attend  group meetings and participate in volunteer work while living in the Mary S. Spottswood  Women’s Center and Kathy’s Hope.

Samuel’s House is more than a shelter.  Current programs and  activities are tailored to the individual’s needs and may include:
